First, to draw some lines and make it easier for folks who are moving from using The Wizard to zMUD: The Wizard's scripts are similar to Aliases in zMUD. By saying that, I hope to clear some misconceptions up.
To find some example scripts for zMUD, go to either our archive of DragonRealms scripts for zMUD, or go to the zMUD home page.
Well, that's a good question ::grins:: Most likely, your version of zMUD isn't up to date. Go to www.zuggsoft.com and get the latest version, v6.15 (as of 12/26/00 ). If that doesn't solve the problem, there might just be a bug in the scripts. Notify me if this is the case, and I'll either implement a fix that you suggest or I'll track the slimy bug down. Thanks!
Simple, me! Ok, I made up the title Inventor a long time ago when I was running around the Crossing with a script that acted as a gambling machine. I made a few platinum, and promptly lost the script (So don't ask). The moderator bit came when Relyor and the owner of the DRzMUD egroup made me a moderator after DRzMUD@Egroups.com broke the 75 member number. Wijet liked to think of himself as a great inventor and con man, though he's since disappeared.
zMUD is a shareware front-end for any MUD. In other words, zMUD acts as The Wizard for any MUD you want to connect to. Now, the benefits of zMUD over The Wizard in terms of DragonRealms or other Simutronics games are listed below:
Aliases - equivalent of The Wizards scripts, but with almost a full programming language to back it up.
Triggers - When a certain piece of text arrives, you can make zMUD respond to it, whether it be changing a variable, or starting an entire script, zMUD will react.
Ok, this is a toughy. First things first, I don't support, advertise, or condone the use of other peoples passwords, cracks, or licenses of zMUD. Zugg is a one man company, his main source of income is zMUD. He deserves and probably needs all the money he can get out of zMUD. That's why you have to pay for it ::grins:: I won't offer scripts for version 6.00 or earlier, mainly because by doing this, I indirectly slow Zugg's income ::grins::. By slowing his income, it means that I see less new versions of zMUD. So, really, I'm selfish, and that is why you've gotta pay for zMUD.
